Roughly 1,500 National Grid customers in Schenectady and Rotterdam are without power this afternoon.
The reason for the outage wasn’t immediately clear. Both police and fire officials from the city were aware of the outage, but unsure of the cause.
A call to National Grid spokesman Patrick Stella was not immediately returned. National Grid’s website indicates power will be restored around 2:15 p.m.
