A pair of Capital Region women were arrested on grand larceny charges after they allegedly stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry from an acquaintance in Slingerlands.

Acting Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple said Tina Civitello, 18, of Guilderland Avenue in Rotterdam and Meagan Murdza, 22, of Sheridan Avenue in Albany were each charged with third-degree grand larceny. They were arraigned on the charge and sent to the Albany County Jail on $10,000 bail.

Apple said the two are accused of stealing items worth $6,300 from a homeowner they knew on Bullock Road. They allegedly pawned the stolen items at Jewels in Rotterdam Square mall and Regency Jewelers on Altamont Avenue in Rotterdam.
