A 43-year-old doctor was accused today of properly touching a female patient in his Waterford office.
Dr. Zahid Nazir of Latham, who is board certified in internal medicine and has an office at 46 Third St., is accused of three counts of forcible touching and three counts of third-degree sexual abuse. The arrest on the misdemeanor charges came after a two-week investigation into a complaint by the patient, said Waterford Public Safety Commissioner John Tanchak.
Nazir was arraigned in Waterford Town Court and released on bail. He could not be reached today to comment on the allegations.
Police are asking any other patients who believe they were subjected to inappropriate touching by Nazir to contact the department at 237-3341.
