Two Albany men have been charged with felony weapons trafficking charges.

Two Albany men have been charged with felony weapons trafficking charges.

Charged were Ammar Elordi, 21, of 306 Mountain St. and Ramsey Moore, 30, of 144 Franklin St. Elordi is also charged with allegedly dealing cocaine and ecstasy.

Detectives from the Community Response Unit conducted investigations on each man and determined they were selling firearms illegally.

Authorities obtained an arrest warrant out of Albany County Superior Court for Moore and arrested him on Aug. 19 during a traffic stop. They recovered three handguns in the investigation.

Moore was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of criminal sale of a firearm.

Elordi was arrested on Oct. 21. Police said he allegedly sold five firearms, including four handguns, in various locations in the city from August to September. He also is accused of selling cocaine. When he was arrested, detectives said they found cocaine and several digital scales inside his house. Four handguns were recovered during the investigation.

Elordi was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a weapon, four counts of criminal sale of a firearm, criminal sale of narcotics, grand larceny, criminal possession of narcotics and criminal use of drug paraphernalia.

Out of the seven handguns recovered, at least one was reported stolen and several had their serial numbers scratched off, police said.

Both men are in Albany County Jail.
