Scientists from the University at Albany are teaming up with researchers from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in nearby Troy and other institutions to study RNA and biomedical technologies.
Also involved will be researchers from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Williams College in western Massachusetts and the New York state Department of Health. They are studying RNA and its potential role in treating cancers, neurological conditions and drug-resistant bacterial and viral infections.
The University at Albany said its five researchers will collaborate with researchers at the other institutions who have complementary approaches.
RNA stands for ribonucleic acid, a biologically important type of molecule. It’s similar to DNA.
