An early morning fire tore through a Clifton Park apartment building Saturday, leaving nine families homeless but no one injured.
The families, totaling 13 adults and one child, had been residents of the Twin Lakes Apartments, a large apartment complex located on Lakeview Drive. Two buildings were damaged.
Volunteers from the Saratoga County Red Cross Disaster Action Team provided the families with immediate emergency aid, including financial assistance for food, clothing and other needs. The families have been placed in a temporary shelter.
The Clifton Park Fire Department could not be reached Saturday.
The Halfmoon Fire Department declined to comment on the fire Saturday, but said their crews did respond to the call earlier that morning.
