Police talked down a teenager who was trying to kill himself by jumping off the Altamont Avenue bridge Monday night.
The 17-year-old called police around 9:40 p.m. to report that he was going to kill himself. Officers closed both sides of I-890, under the bridge, and found the teen sitting on the bridge fence.
He was distraught because of a domestic incident, police said.
They persuaded him to climb down from the fence, and took him to Ellis Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.
