Two juveniles were arrested this morning for allegedly robbing a Niskayuna High School student at knifepoint of prescription medication.
The incident happened just before the start of classes on Wednesday. Two male youths approached the victim in a wooded area adjacent to the school’s parking lot at the Nott Street East entrance, according to police. The victim reported the incident to school officials, who in turn contacted authorities.
The victim and one of the suspects are Niskayuna High School students, while the other suspect goes to a school in the city of Schenectady.
No one was injured during the course of the robbery, police said.
The names of suspects and victim are being withheld because of their ages. Both suspects were charged with two felonies of first-degree robbery and fourth-degree grand larceny. Both were arraigned in Niskayuna Town Justice Court by Judge Stephen Swinton Jr. and remanded to a secure juvenile facility.
