U.S. Rep. Maurice Hinchey wife Allison Lee was arrested Wednesday night and charged with driving while intoxicated by the Albany Police Department.

Lee, 49, was pulled over around 9:30 p.m. and charged with driving while using a mobile phone, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, following too closely, DWI and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of more than .08 percent.

In the charges against Lee, the DWI is cited as a first offense, which means she either pleaded to a lesser charge or had DWI charges from an incident last spring dismissed.

Earlier Wednesday, Hinchey announced a news conference scheduled today where he said he will not run for an 11th term in the House.
