A city man was critically injured in a two-vehicle accident early Monday morning on Route 29 east of the city, Saratoga Springs police said.
Conan O’Rourke, 41, was listed in “critical” condition at Albany Medical Center after being taken there by helicopter after the 5:35 a.m. crash, police said.
Police said O’Rourke was westbound on Route 29 between Gilbert and Old Schuylerville roads when his Chevrolet Avalanche was hit from behind by a Porche driven by Deborah Britton, 53, of Saratoga Springs. The Avalanche was spun off the road, rolled over, and went into a ravine. O’Rourke was ejected from the vehicle, police said.
Britton was taken to Saratoga Hospital, where police said she was treated and released.
The accident remains under investigation, with charges pending, police said.
Route 29 between Gilbert and Old Schuylerville roads was closed for about six hours while police investigated and did an accident reconstruction.
