A report from state fire investigators is expected to reveal some details on the cause of last week’s fire that claimed the life of a Schoharie County woman.

Kelly J. Finn, 46, died at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse the day after she was pulled from the burning home at 3240 state Route 7, according to the Schoharie County Sheriff’s department.

Finn left two children, a fiance and other family members, according to her obituary on the website of the Ottman Funeral Home of Cherry Valley.

Firefighters were called to the two-story home at about 8:43 a.m. last Tuesday and found Finn inside the burning home.

She was taken to Cobleskill Regional Hospital before being transported to the Syracuse hospital.

Firefighters from the Central Bridge, Schoharie, Cobleskill, Middleburgh and Esperance companies fought the fire and personnel from Cobleskill EMS and Scho-Wright Ambulance were on the scene.

Schoharie County Fire Coordinator Matt Brisley referred questions on the cause of the blaze to the state Office of Fire Prevention and Control.

Investigators familiar with the probe at the OFPC were not immediately available for comment.
