Police in the release said a caller from 113 Elm St. hung up after dialing 911 at about 6:22 p.m. Sunday.

Village police went to the residence and a woman there told them everything was OK.

But two more 911 calls came in from the same residence just minutes later and after knocking on the door, police allege Fornabio opened the door, holding the woman with a knife to her throat.

He told police to take off or he’d hurt the woman, according to the release.

Schoharie County Sheriff’s deputies and State Troopers were on the scene as well.

Police were able to get at Fornabio when he pushed the woman into the hallway. Guns drawn, police ordered Fornabio to the floor and he was placed into custody without injury, according to police.

The woman was unharmed as well.

Fornabio was arraigned in Cobleskill Town Court and sent to the Albany County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond.
