A city man faces felony sex abuse charges, accused of raping a 10-year-old boy and using Facebook to lure a 15-year-old boy into having sex.

Jeremy N. Thompson, 25, of 1761 Becker St., was charged Tuesday with first-degree criminal sexual act, a charge related to the 10-year-old boy that could net Thompson up to 25 years in prison, if convicted.

Thompson is accused of raping the boy Saturday in Schenectady and exposing himself to an 8-year-old girl, police said.

He is charged in this case with criminal sexual act and first-degree attempted criminal sexual act, both felonies, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.

In the Facebook case, Thompson is accused of luring a 15-year-old boy to Schenectady in November, giving him drugs and engaging in sex acts with him, police said. In that case, he faces three counts of third-degree criminal sexual act, a felony, along with four counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.

Thompson was arraigned in Schenectady City Court and ordered held on $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond. He remained at the Schenectady County jail on Wednesday evening.

Thompson was arrested by members of the Schenectady Police Department’s Youth Aid Bureau. The Colonie Police Department is also assisting in the case.

Anyone who believes they have information on Thompson, or on other possible victims, is asked to contact the Schenectady Police Department’s Youth Aid Bureau at 382-5265.
