Hickory Ski Center, a ski area that relies on natural snow, will open for the first time this winter at 9 a.m. Saturday.
“We picked up over 12 inches of snow on Thursday and the grooming team hit the mountain, preparing 9 of our 18 trails with perfect corduroy,” said Jeremiah Greco, the ski center’s marketing director. The ski center is in the town of Warrensburg on Hickory Hill Road not far from Northway Exit 23.
Those coming from out of town should check the center’s website (www.hickoryhill.com) or call the center at 518-623-5754 to check on opening times and details in the event of heavy rain Friday night.
Those coming to the center are advised that there will not be any kitchen service, so bring a picnic lunch. There will be no ski rental or lessons on Saturday.
The center’s Telefest 2012 has been postponed to March 17.
