Authorities won’t charge an airline passenger who was removed from a Boston-to-Chicago flight after it was diverted to Buffalo because of a reported bomb scare.
The FBI in Buffalo says the woman was released this afternoon after being questioned.
The passenger, whose name hasn’t been released, was detained by the FBI after JetBlue Flight 923 landed in Buffalo around 8:30 a.m. today. The flight landed in Buffalo after someone called JetBlue and said the passenger may pose a bomb threat.
Investigators determined the threat wasn’t real. The flight eventually continued on to Chicago.
Steven Lanser, assistant special agent in charge of the FBI’s Buffalo office, says the call was traced to a woman in Boston. It’s not known yet if she’ll be charged.
