A Clifton Park woman was killed early this morning when her motorcycle was hit by a dump truck on Route 9 near the Crescent Bridge.
State police have yet to release the woman’s name, but Saratoga County Coroner John DeMartino said she was a 54-year-old Clifton Park woman.
DeMartino said the 6:40 a.m. incident occurred at the traffic light just north of the Crescent Bridge. State police, who are investigating, said the motorcycle was stopped at the light in front of the truck, and when the light turned green the truck driver accelerated without being able to see the motorcycle over the hood of the truck. The motorcycle was dragged several hundred feet.
That section of Route 9 was closed into early afternoon while police did an accident reconstruction.
