A 61-year-old man suffered a stab wound to his side after an argument Thursday night, police said today.

The victim was taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition late Thursday, police said. The severity of his injuries, however, was unknown.

Police were called to the corner of Becker and Elm streets shortly after 9 p.m. for a report of a group fighting on Elm, between Becker and State, police said.

When they arrived, they found the victim.

He was treated at the scene by the Schenectady Fire Department and then taken to the hospital by Mohawk Ambulance.

No description of the suspect has been released.
