The Public Works Department recommends not watering between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. because of significant evaporation rates.

There are no restrictions for watering with hand-held devices for gardens, plants, trees and shrubs. Please ensure that you are not watering streets, sidewalks and driveways during this dry period.

Public Works Commissioner Anthony “Skip” Scirocco that his department wants to be proactive and do the responsible thing so there are no problems in the future. “The main reason is that the demand on the treatment plant has been high and putting these conservation measures in place will reduce the daily consumption,” Scirocco said.

This voluntary water usage advisory will remain in effect until further notice. Any questions should be directed to City Hall, Department of Public Works at 587-3550, extension 2555.
