Authorities are still investigating a two-car fatal vehicle crash that killed 16-year-old Schuylerville resident Nicholas Giovannone.
The crash occurred around 4 p.m. Saturday when Giovannone’s Honda, which was eastbound on Aqueduct Road, crossed over into the westbound lane and struck another vehicle head on, according to a press release from Niskayuna police. Niskayuna police are investigating the crash along with State Police.
Giovannone, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second vehicle, a 2002 Ford Taurus, was operated by 25-year-old Schenectady resident Joseph Mormon-Tibbs. He was transported by Med-Flight to Albany Medical Center with serious injuries.
Giovannone’s specific speed has not yet been determined but is considered to have been a contributing factor to the crash, according to police.
