Two recent underage drinking initiatives by local law enforcement have resulted in the arrests of a bartender at a Gloversville bar and several teenagers and adults attending a motorcycle race in Caroga Lake.
Gloversville police said they charged Doug Anadio, a bartender at Doc’s Remedy on Bleecker Street, with misdemeanor unlawful dealing with a minor last week. He is accused of serving drinks to customers under the age of 21.
Police said they began their investigation of Doc’s Remedy after receiving complaints the bar was serving minors. Undercover officers went to the bar last week after an event at Royal Mountain and observed Anadio serving several underage patrons without asking for their identifications, police said.
Police contacted the State Liquor Authority about the incident and said they expect other arrests as part of their investigation. State police assisted.
In a separate investigation, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department charged five people with possession of alcohol by a person under the age of 21 and three other people on different charges following a sting at a motocross race at Royal Mountain Aug. 22.
Charged were:
• Kylie A. Hatley, 17, of Lake Road, Delanson;
• Frank P. Dufford, 18, of Lynch Road, Little Falls;
• Jacob T. Taylor, 19, of Park Boulevard, Ogden, Utah;
• Zachary E. Malagisi, 19, of South McNab Avenue, Gloversville;
• Robert D. Decker, 20, of Route 30A, Fonda.
