Man killed by falling tree reported to be local race car driver

A Coeymans man was killed Thursday when a tree he was cutting down fell on him.

A Coeymans man was killed Thursday when a tree he was cutting down fell on him.

The 29-year-old man cut the tree on his Tomkins Hill Road property just before 4 p.m. Police, fire and emergency medical technicians responded to the scene. Family members and emergency responders preformed CPR. The victim was transported to Albany Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police have not released the name but other media outlets are reporting that the man killed was local race car driver J.C. Flach. Messages of condolences are being posted on Flach’s Facebook site and condolences have been posted on the racing website dirttrackdigest.com, which features a photo of Flach’s race car at Lebanon Valley Speedway.
