Burglary, vandalism pleas to draw prison terms

A Greenfield man accused of taking jewelry from a home pleaded guilty Tuesday to second-degree attempted burglary in Saratoga County Court.

State police in March arrested Anthony J. Amash, 20, of Grange Road Mobile Home Park Lot 7, alleging that he entered homes in the Grange Road area. Police said then that a homeowner caught him in the house, and when he was arrested he allegedly had jewelry from a second home on the same road.

Amash is scheduled for sentencing in November.

Also recently in County Court:

• A man who vandalized the construction area in the Halfmoon railroad yard was sentenced in Saratoga County Court on Sept. 4 to pay nearly $20,000 in restitution.

Dylan Larose, 20, of 24 Hudson Ave., Apt. 202, Mechanicville, also was sentenced to time he already served in jail and five years’ probation. He pleaded guilty in July to third-degree criminal mischief. Larose and Michael P. Ryan, of the same address, were accused in April of taking a pickup truck in Mechanicville and driving around the rail yard off Route 67, causing $37,000 in damage.

Saratoga County sheriff’s deputies said the two drove through an area being prepared for a concrete pour, damaging ditches and rebar.

• Nancy Farinas, 50, of 123 W. Circular St., Saratoga Springs, pleaded guilty Tuesday to felony driving while intoxicated. She was arrested in March in Malta.

• Garrett McNulty, 25, of 245 Woodlawn Ave., Saratoga Springs, pleaded guilty Tuesday to felony third-degree identity theft. He was arrested in March in Malta.

• Alexander P. Jones, 25, of 31 Swan St., Schenectady, was indicted Tuesday on a felony charge of failure to register as a sex offender. Ballston Spa police arrested him in Malta in September 2011. Jones was convicted in 2009 of having sex with a 14-year-old girl and is a Level 2 sex offender.

• Jason Berben, 30, of 73 Andrea Court, Halfmoon, was sentenced Monday to six months in Saratoga County Jail and five years’ probation on a charge of tampering with physical evidence. He was arrested in June in Halfmoon and pleaded guilty in July.

• Theodore Pamper, 23, of 538 Route 9P, Saratoga Springs, was sentenced Friday to six months in Saratoga County Jail and five years’ probation, and ordered to pay $360 restitution for a charge of third-degree criminal possession of marijuana. Pamper pleaded guilty in June to the charge, which Saratoga Springs police levied against him in December.

• Karen Imfeld, 48, of 4 Sprucewood Court, Waterford, was sentenced Friday to 60 days in Saratoga County Jail and continued probation after admitting to a probation violation for an aggravated unlicensed operation conviction from 2009.

• Michael T. Jackson, 34, of 132C Vanderbilt Terrace, Saratoga Springs, was sentenced Thursday to two years in state prison and one year of post-release supervision on a felony charge of fourth-degree attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance. He also was sentenced to time already served in jail for a misdemeanor driving while ability impaired by drugs charge. Jackson pleaded guilty in July to the charges, which stemmed from his arrest May in Wilton.

• Brian J. Wilson, 43, of 433 Joseph St., Ballston Spa, was sentenced Thursday to five days in Saratoga County Jail and five years of probation for driving drunk in April in Milton. He pleaded guilty in July.

• Steven Tourtellot, 38, of 625 Sweetman Road, Ballston Spa, was sentenced Thursday to nine months in Saratoga County Jail with credit for time he already served after he admitted to a violation of probation on a 2009 DWI conviction.

• Adam Sanders, 31, of Chestertown was sentenced Thursday to one to three years in state prison after violating his probation on a DWI conviction from 2008.

• Kaysie Horwedel, 29, of 21 Plank Road, Halfmoon, was sentenced Thursday to continue on probation with 30 hours of community service after violating probation in a 2009 criminal mischief conviction.

• Jesse Pappalau, 27, of 2237 Van Vranken Ave., Schenectady, pleaded guilty Sept. 5 to fourth-degree attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance and will be placed on interim probation to participate in Drug Treatment Court, with the charge to be reduced when treatment court has been completed. Pappalau was arrested in May in Clifton Park.

• Nicholas Carleton, 31, of Room 101 at the Budget Inn, 2865 Route 9, Malta, pleaded guilty Sept. 4 to failure to report an address change within 10 days. He was arrested in August in Corinth on that charge. Carleton was convicted in 2001 of first-degree sodomy and sentenced to six years in state prison.

• Christine M. Thompson, 42, of Troy was sentenced Aug. 31 to 1 1/2 years in state prison and one year of post-release supervision for violating her probation on a 2010 conviction for attempted criminal sale of a controlled substance.

• Clyde Woodruff, 35, of 40 Madison St., Saratoga Springs, pleaded guilty Aug. 31 to felony DWI from a November arrest in Malta.

• David Daiello, 52, of Loudonville was sentenced Aug. 31 to six months in Saratoga County Jail and five years’ probation on a felony DWI charge from November in Saratoga Springs.

• Jonathan Rogers, 33, of 255 Main St. Apt. 4, Corinth, was sentenced Aug. 31 to one year in Saratoga County Jail with credit for time served after he violated his probation for a criminal contempt charge.

• Christopher D. Barnes, 32, of 417 Northern Pines Road, Wilton, was sentenced Aug. 31 to a year in Saratoga County Jail with credit for time served after he violated probation on a criminal contempt conviction. Barnes also pleaded guilty in Saratoga Springs City Court to third-degree assault and will serve six months in jail to run concurrently.
