One man has been arrested and a second man deemed “relevant” to the investigation in connection with a Thursday night shooting death in Albany, police said.

Charged directly with the killing was Bernard White, 23, of 522 Clinton Ave. White faces one count of second-degree murder and first-degree robbery.

A second man, Antwan Uptegrow, 35, of 108 Bradford St., was being held Friday on a state parole warrant. Uptegrow is a party “relevant to this investigation,” police said.

White is accused of killing 35-year-old Alex Duncan Thursday evening on Ontario Street.

Officers were called to 104 Ontario St. at around 9:45 p.m. for a call that a man had been shot. They arrived to find Duncan with a gunshot wound.

Duncan was taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

White was arraigned this afternoon in the Albany City Court and ordered held. Uptegrow is being held in connection with his parole warrant.

Detectives continue to investigate. Police are asking anyone with information to call the Albany Police Detectives Division at 462-8039.
