The Albany County Judicial Center has been evacuated because of an underground electrical fire.
The fire broke out at around 3 p.m. in the sewer system under South Pearl Street, resulting in smoke being drawn into the building through the air intake system.
National Grid is on the scene to investigate the problem.
“For the protection and safety of those in the building, Sheriff Craig Apple and I determined this had to be done,” said Albany County Executive Daniel McCoy of the evacuation.
No one has been hurt and the source of the fire is unknown at this time.
