Four charged at Albany parties for serving alcohol to minors

Four more people were arrested this past weekend, accused of hosting large house parties and serving alcohol to minors.

In one incident, Charles Zajac and Jeff Acosta, both 21, were each charged with two counts of first-degree unlawfully dealing with a minor, a misdemeanor.

The two were charged after police responded to a call for a loud party at 421 Hudson Ave. at about 1 a.m. on Saturday, police said.

Officers arrived to find 80 to 100 people causing a large commotion and playing loud music. Police also soon discovered several people consuming alcohol who are under the age of 21.

Zajac and Acosta were also ticketed for unnecessary and unusual noise.

Just after 1 a.m. on Sunday, police responded to another large house party at 400 Morris St. Officers arriving there found a party on the second floor with several people drinking alcohol and playing loud music.

Accused hosts Nicholas Panucci, 20, and Matthew Flaherty, 19, were charged with first-degree unlawfully dealing with a minor.

All four were arraigned this morning in Albany City Court.

The arrests also add to the list of those charged by police since Aug. 20 related to hosting loud parties and serving alcohol to minors. That number now stands at 24.
