Police on Thursday located the 16-year-old girl who was reported missing from a residential group home over the weekend.
At about 11 p.m., Saratoga Springs police investigators John Barney and James Bell found Angel Williams-Guynup on Central Avenue in Albany. Williams-Guynup had left Kayderossas House on Saturday.
She was transported back to the police department, where she was charged with one count of falsely reporting an incident, a Class A misdemeanor.
The charge stems from Williams-Guynup’s false report to police that she was lost in a wooded area near Route 29 in Saratoga Springs. This report resulted in an intensive ground search that included numerous resources from various local and state agencies, according to police.
The Albany Police Department assisted in the investigation that led to her being found. Police could not immediately provide information about how she ended up in Albany.
Williams-Guynup was being held in the Saratoga Springs city jail and due to be arraigned this morning in Saratoga Springs City Court.
