A morning fire at a vacant Hamilton Hill home caused significant damage there, but no injuries, fire officials said.

Firefighters were called to the home at 339 Paige St. at 6:20 a.m. for smoke and flames visible. The second floor of the two-story structure was fully involved, officials said.

City firefighters got water on the blaze by 6:31 a.m., with the main body of the fire knocked down by 6:38 a.m., officials said.

As city fire crews fought the blaze, fire departments from Scotia and Niskayuna were put on standby to watch over the rest of the city.

The investigation into the blaze continued this afternoon. Officials, though, noted there was no electricity to the building.

No adjacent structures were damaged.
