Hit-and-run accident suspect arrested in Duanesburg

A man suspected in a hit-and-run accident in the Town of Guilderland was arrested by state police in Duanesburg Wednesday, accused of driving while intoxicated, police said.

Michael T. Mitchell, 25, of Evans Mills, N.Y., was charged Wednesday with one count each of felony driving while intoxicated and felony aggravated unlicensed operation.

Mitchell was located by state police early Wednesday morning in Duanesburg. He had been sought in connection with the earlier accident in Guilderland.

Mitchell is also accused of refusing to submit to a chemical test and was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.

He was arraigned and ordered held. He is to return to court Oct. 15.
