The New York State Police has 133 new troopers in the first class to graduate from its academy since 2009.
Their graduation ceremony is set for today at Empire State Plaza in Albany.
The class increases the agency’s total of sworn officers to 4,470.
Its peak was 4,888 three years ago, when state budget constraints halted recruiting.
