The Schenectady Police Department is investigating a home invasion Wednesday at 43 Kelton Ave. that left one city resident shot in the abdomen.

Two men, one armed with a handgun, entered the apartment at 11:49 p.m. and demanded money. One of the residents, identified as 20-year-old Unique B. King, attempted to disarm the suspect and was shot once, according to police. King was transported to Ellis Hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspects were wearing hoodies and masks and are still at large. Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Detective Division at 382-5245.
