A 25-year-old Stillwater man has been charged with criminal sale and criminal possession of crack cocaine after an investigation by the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.

William B. Shafer of Ferry Lane was arrested by the sheriff’s narcotics unit in connection with the illegal sales of crack cocaine in the village.

Police said Shafer was allegedly selling crack cocaine from his residence. Police obtained a search warrant Thursday and allegedly found drug paraphernalia and various prescription narcotics not prescribed to Shafer in his residence.

Shafer was arraigned in Stillwater Town Court and taken to Saratoga County Jail without bail to reappear in town court Nov. 7.
