Update: Woman stabbed to death in Albany; suspect sought (with photo)

A woman was killed Monday afternoon and two other women seriously injured in Albanyl.

Police arrived to find all three women lying on the ground with stab wounds. Within hours, they announced they were looking for a murder suspect in the case.

They said they were looking for Michael D. Anderson, 29, of Albany, in connection with the murder.

He was described as a black male, 5-feet-10-inches and 150 pounds. Police also included a photograph, which showed a middle-aged man with short black hair ending in braids, a short beard and a mustache.

Anyone with information on his location is asked to call the Albany Police Detectives Division at 462-8039.

Police were called to 157 Myrtle Ave., a two-unit apartment building, at 2:30 p.m. All three women were outside, police spokesman Steven Smith said.

The survivors were rushed to Albany Medical Center Hospital, where both were in surgery Monday night. Smith did not yet know their condition.

Police are not releasing the name of the deceased until they can notify her family.
