Authorities say two women have died and four other people are injured, including three children, after a crash on Route 67.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office says the crash occurred around 6 p.m. Sunday when a van driven by a 68-year-old man crossed into oncoming traffic on Route 67 and collided with a vehicle in Amsterdam.

Deputies say the driver of the other vehicle, 33-year-old Tanya Sleight, was killed along with a 39-year-old woman riding in her car. The other woman’s name hasn’t been released.

Officials say two children ages 2 and 9 are in Albany Medical Center Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Their conditions aren’t immediately available Monday.

The other driver and a 7-year-old child were treated at St. Mary’s Hospital in Amsterdam for non-life-threatening injuries.
