Bethlehem man faces drug, weapons charges

A Bethlehem man was arrested for allegedly having a loaded handgun and cocaine at his house.

Investigators from the Albany County Sheriff’s Office obtained a warrant and searched a residence at 187 Bradford St. in Albany. Two stolen dirt bikes have been recovered and several others have been confiscated until the owners have been contacted.

Information obtained during the search led to the arrest of 25-year-old Marshon Guthrie of 225 McCormack Road North. Guthrie was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, a Class E felony, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, a Class A misdemeanor. He was arraigned by Judge Ryan Donovan and remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 bail.

The handgun was taken from the State of Tennessee.

The investigation is continuing and more arrests are expected.
