Fire on second floor of Foster Avenue residence

A fire on the second floor of a Foster Avenue residence spread into the attic this morning.

The Schenectady Fire Department responded to a fire this morning at 1618 Foster Ave. No one was home at the time of the fire and no one was injured.

In the process of dealing with the fire, a firefighter went on the roof of the residence and chopped a hole in the roof.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
