Glenville police are searching for the person or people behind a series of similarly conducted burglaries around town the last several months.

Residents have been reporting the burglaries since February and as recently as this morning on Willow Lane, according to a news release issued today. They have reported being awakened in the middle of the night by sounds of someone in their home. The burglar then flees when he fears he has been discovered.

Most of the burglaries have occurred after midnight at unlocked homes. So far, 15 burglaries with similar characteristics have occurred in the following areas: Indian Hills Development, Sacandaga and Church roads, Sanders and Glen avenues, St. Stephens Lane, Cloverleaf Drive and Willow Lane.

Police are asking residents to remain vigilant, lock their doors and vehicles, and report anything suspicious.
