Law enforcement boats are plying the waters of the Great Sacandaga Lake today, searching for two Broadalbin fishermen who went missing over the weekend.

Mark Richards, 51, and Bret Richards, 24, went fishing Saturday. They parked near Macvean Road just off Lakeview Road early in the morning and launched an 8-foot jon boat.

When the two did not return home at the end of the day, they were reported missing. Sheriff’s deputies found the vehicle and launched a search.

Items from the boat were found floating near shore, but a search of the shoreline Sunday could not locate the men.

County and state law enforcement agencies began an underwater search of the lake this morning.
