When most people are finding something to be down about on a gloomy morning like Thursday, the board members of Freedom Park Foundation were all smiles. The foundation announced its 34-date 2013 Summer Schedule on Thursday.
“It’s going to be a great, great season,” said Nell Burrows, president of Freedom Park Foundation.
Thursday was, as Scotia Mayor Kris Kastberg put it, “the official summer kickoff of the summer season for the village of Scotia.” Highlights on this year’s schedule are the Screaming Orphans, a pop-rock group from Dublin, Ireland, on July 10; the Wild Adriatic, a rock and soul group, on July 13; Sirsy, a rock duo, on July 24; and a three-night performance by Schenectady Light Opera of “High School Musical” from Aug. 14-17.
Not only was the Freedom Park Foundation announcing its schedule of performances for this summer, but they made another announcement. Bill Pytlovany, head of digital media for the foundation, announced the launching of the foundation’s new website, www.freedomparkscotia.com. Freedom Park Association worked with Elite Venture Media, a local media company, in constructing the new website.
“It provides mainly information and gratitude and appreciate to the sponsors because we depend on the sponsors and our members,” said Pytlovany. “This way anybody who comes to the website will automatically see who our sponsors are, so they can do business with them and can thank them for coming down here.”
The website’s main use is to provide fans information about upcoming performances and on the individual performers for each event. For more information about the Freedom Park Foundation and their 2013 Summer Schedule, visit www.freedomparkscotia.com.
