Six schools inn the Shenendehowa Central School District opened without power this morning.
After a two-hour delay at all three middle schools and Okte, Tesago, and Skano elementary schools, students came in for class. All six schools had working restrooms and food and water to serve at lunch, which allowed students to attend class after the delay.
As of 11 a.m., five of the six schoools’ power had been restored, leaving Okte as the only school without power. Today’s power outage at Shenendehowa was due to damage from Wednesday night’s thunderstorms that left portions of Clifton Park without power.
Schalmont schools were closed today following the storm damage.
