Prevention Council director resigns two days after her DWI arrest makes news

The Prevention Council’s executive director resigned her post Saturday, two days after her drunken driving arrest in Ticonderoga hit the local news.

Heather Kisselback submitted her resignation and the council’s board of directors accepted it, according to a statement from board President Rich Ferguson posted on the Prevention Council’s website.

Kisselback was pulled over March 2 in Ticonderoga in Essex County for failing to dim her headlights and was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving with a blood-alcohol content of 0.08 percent or more. She submitted her resignation soon after the incident but board members rejected it, saying counseling and probation were more in line with the council’s mission.

They put her on a six-month probationary period.

But on Saturday after news of Kisselback’s arrest made the news, she submitted her resignation again.

In the statement on the website, Ferguson apologized for the “distraction that has caused to the agency’s staff, clientele and the community.”

The Alcohol and Substance Abuse Prevention Council of Saratoga County’s mission is to encourage young people to choose healthy behaviors, including avoiding alcohol, drugs, tobacco and violence.
