State and local police arrested six people Monday on prostitution charges in Schenectady.
Three women from Schenectady and a woman from Rensselaer were charged with prostitution. Additionally, a Schenectady man and a New York City man were charged with patronizing prostitutes.
The Schenectady Police Department’s Special Investigative Unit, Direct Patrol Unit and the state police conducted the prostitution detail, and arrested and charged the following:
— Jared E. Ball, 31, of Schenectady, was charged with patronizing a prostitute, a class A misdemeanor;
— Li Ju, 58, of New York City, was charged with patronizing a prostitute;
— Charlotte R. Ashby, 25, of Schenectady, was charged with prostitution, a class B misdemeanor;
— Paulette A. Bowman, 43, of Rensselaer, was charged with prostitution;
— Doris R. Thomas, 52, of Schenectady, was charged with prostitution;
— Allissa Jordan, 44, of Schenectady, was charged with prostitution and harassment, a violation.
All six were scheduled to appear in Schenectady City Court today.
