Albany police are investigating the death of a 1-month-old baby boy.
Police initially responded to Albany Medical Center Hospital on Thursday morning last week for a report of an injured child. Hospital staff told detectives that the baby was just 4 weeks old and from Kingston, and had sustained a severe head injury.
On Monday afternoon, the baby died at the hospital as a result of his injuries.
Albany police spokesman Steven Smith said today that although the baby was from Kingston, his injuries occurred in the city of Albany. He could not comment any further, except to say that the death is being treated as a homicide.
