Residents impacted by widespread flooding should call the state’s flood helpline at 1-888-769-7243.

The helpline includes local contact information for the Red Cross and Salvation Army, health and safety tips and other useful recovery information.

Three roads in Fort Plain remain closed because of the flooding, according to a release from Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office. Abbott Street is open, but will be closed at various times for road work, state Route 80 is closed between Abbott Street and Pumpkin Hook Road, and state Route 5S/80 in the village is closed at Main Street. Additionally, part of state Route 5 is still closed from last week’s train derailment.

According to information from National Grid in the release, 248 electric meters are off or pulled from service in Fort Plain. The company has turned 101 meters back on and the remaining 121 reported as condemned or require additional work. Additional inspections are being performed where access is possible.

Gas service is out for 187 customers in Fort Plain.
