The search for an elderly city woman with Alzheimer’s disease continued Monday, more than three days after she was last seen.

Mary A. Wright, 68, of 6 Queens Drive, Apt. F4, was last seen just after midnight Friday morning and discovered missing around 3 a.m. that morning, police said.

Police have unconfirmed sightings of Wright in Vale Park around 10:30 a.m. Friday, police spokesman Lt. Mark McCracken said. That led police to call in divers to search the pond in the park, but nothing was found.

The park is about three miles from Wright’s residence, a distance she could have traveled from the time she was last seen to the time of the unconfirmed sightings. Also in that general direction, Wright was familiar with a location on Nott Terrace, McCracken noted. However, he added, with her Alzheimer’s disease and other conditions, there may not have been a rationale for her direction of travel.

Also Monday, family members and friends kept up the search, posting fliers and going door-to-door seeking information in the Vale area, focusing on the location around the reported sightings.

Wright is described as a black female, about 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 210 pounds, with thinning black and gray hair. She was last seen wearing a white undershirt and blue capri pajama pants.

Wright suffers from insulin-dependant diabetes, high blood pressure and dementia, police said.

Police asked anyone with information to contact them.
