Police say a city man killed a woman’s cat by throwing it against a wall before striking the woman on Sunday night.
Allen W. VanNostrand, 18, of 100 Lincoln St., was charged with aggravated cruelty to animals, a felony, and third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, according to a release from the Gloversville Police Department.
Police in the release said the woman suffered a minor injury. She told officers VanNostrand killed her cat by repeatedly throwing it against a wall. The feline was found not long afterwards with a broken neck, police said in the release.
VanNostrand was arraigned in Gloversville City Court and sent to the Fulton County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail.
