Tesago Elementary School in Clifton Park has made the U.S. Department of Education’s list of “National Blue Ribbon Schools” for 2013.
The federal program was founded more than 30 years ago to recognize schools where students perform at a high level or have demonstrated significant improvements. Tesago Elementary School, which is part of the Shenendehowa Central School District, was recognized as a high-performing school.
Also on the list was Elsmere Elementary School in Delmar.
Less than 300 schools made the list of blue ribbon schools.
Watch a video about the program and this year’s list from U.S. Department of Education Secretary Arne Duncan on the Gazette’s Back to School blog.
