Transfinder’s customers from across the country, Canada and the United Kingdom will be in Schenectady on Thursday for the tech company’s annual Client Summit.

More than 200 of Transfinder’s customers are expected in the Capital Region Wednesday through Friday, marking the largest conference for Transfinder to highlight its growth and future plans.

The summit will also provide hands-on training sessions along with discussions about services and products currently being developed. Last year the summit drew nearly 180 customers to the area.

“This summit is critical to us as a company and valuable to our clients,” said Antonio Civitella, president and CEO of Transfinder. “At this conference, we are able to give our clients hands-on training, shortcuts to key services they may need and a glimpse into future products we are developing at Transfinder. We also learn more about what our clients need, making our relationship a true partnership.”

Transfinder is a software company that develops GPS bus-routing software for more than 1,500 school districts. The company’s software maps the quickest and safest bus routes, saving school districts money on transportation costs.

Schenectady Mayor Gary McCarthy and Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan plan to welcome conference attendees to the region. McCarthy will speak at Transfinder’s headquarters on State Street in downtown Schenectady.

McCarthy said Transfinder and its employees are neighbors that Schenectady residents “would be proud to have” as a growing technology company that contributes to the economic growth of the city.

“The company is more than just providing 80 good-paying jobs to members of our community,” McCarthy said. “Transfinder and its employees clearly believe — and live out — the view that they play a role in making our region a better place to live, work and raise families.”
