An Albany-based World War II warship is heading up the Hudson River after undergoing repairs on Staten Island.
The destroyer escort USS Slater is the last of its kind afloat in the U.S. and is a floating museum from April through November.
The warship is making its return to Albany on Monday.
It’s expected to go past West Point around 1 p.m. and beneath the Walkway Over the Hudson at about 4 p.m.
The Journal News says the ship is sporting a new “dazzle” camouflage scheme, bright colors with zigzagging lines and shapes. The patterns were designed to confuse enemy combatants.
It underwent almost three months’ of work at the Caddell Dry Dock and Repair Co. on Staten Island.
The $1.2 million project was funded by private donations.
