62 Days of Summer
You could be enjoying bagpipes with the Scotia-Glenville Pipe band at Freedom Park in Scotia, or dancing to Afro-fusion beats at Music Haven in Schenectady’s Central Park.
Classical music and bluegrass, Latin or country, local rock bands and international Celtic stars — it’s summer and the range of free outdoor concerts in the area is pretty astounding.
If you don’t mind a bit of driving, you could take in several free shows a week.
There are so many around, there’s not enough room here to name them all. So we’ll update this list every couple of weeks.
Here are some of the free shows coming up in the next two weeks. Bring a blanket or your lawn chair, pack a picnic and your dancing shoes.
Freedom Park, Scotia, right next-door to Jumpin’ Jack’s. All shows start at 7 and go on in rain, but not during “dangerous weather.” More info: www.freedomparkscotia.com
