Although Rotterdam’s boil water advisory has been lifted, the town is still under a state of emergency, and residents are instructed not to use water for any non-essential purpose.
According to a message left for residents when calling Town Hall, Rotterdam is currently able to use only “one or two” of its four water wells.
The town is still working to fix a valve in the area of Wallace avenue and Bernard Street.
Residents were without drinkable water for much of last week. Town highway and water workers are doing repairs, during which time a “handful of houses” in the Bernard Street and Wallace Avenue area will be without water.
Residents are still instructed against open fires, lawn sprinkling and filling pools.
